Lord Jesus, thank you for darkness in our lives
Only then shall we become children of the light
For the blessing of heartache and sorrow
So one day shall be overwhelmed with joy
Doubt, so we may come to believe
Weakness, so we become strong
When everything seems to be going so wrong
Loneliness, so we would extend our love
Brokenness so we would learn how to mend
Storms, so we would enjoy the calm
Betrayal, so we would be forgiving
In a troubled world that is so unforgiving
Sickness, so we would enjoy our health
Confusion, so we would learn to reason
Coldness, so we would enjoy sharing warmth
Hunger, so we would feed those in need
Failure, so we would endure and succeed
Lord Jesus, thank you for the struggles in our lives
Blessed are we to deal with our earthly strife
Infinite Wisdom has placed them there
So we will search, find, and not despair, Amen.

I can give you any pleasure that you so desire
Make you burn with lust, I know something about fire
I can take you many places, you have never been
Just call it being happy, never think to call it sin
I can make you look pretty, give you diamonds and gold
Keep you looking beautiful, a wonder to behold
I can give you everything, just one thing you need to do
For you to sell me the soul, that He placed inside of you
I have no power, unless you give it to me
My fate was sealed, on a cross at Calvary
If we join forces there's no way we will loose
It's now or never, time for you to choose
All He will do, is set your soul on fire
Give you the peace, that your heart so desires
Fill you with joy, no matter the state you are in
Help you see the truth, and turn away from sin
He is the one, whose fate, silver pieces sold
The blessed One, of whom the Prophets foretold
Pay no attention to Him, in anything you do
Just remember only I, can give this world to you
I have no power, unless you sell your soul to me
Your fate was sealed, with His blood upon that tree
If you side with Him, then I surely will loose
It's now or never, time for you to choose
I'll give you pleasure, He will fill your hearts desire
I'll make you burn with lust, He will put out the fire
I'll give you the world, He will give you eternity
I'll steal your soul; He will rescue you from me
I have no power, when you are down on bended knee
I would steal your soul, but the Master holds the key
I will flee from you, if His love is what you seek
I will call you names, you foolish Jesus freak
You made the choice, He dwells inside of you
I will not give up, but He will see you through
I'll return again, under another phony disguise
I'm the king of this world and the father of lies

Such a long-long road to hoe
Change seems so impossible to me
There's just no way to know
Time may make it clear for us to see

So very-very long out there
We lived life our way
Now it all seems so unfair
Trust Him, He hears us when we pray

At times we may even loose our way
Let our hearts not be concerned
He will surely help us find our way

I promised one day to put it all away
Not look back at what was once or twice
I promised I would change one day
Become a better person, try being nice
I promised my heart it was real
Nothing would sway me this time
I promised myself it was time to heal
Now all I had to do was get it done
I promised to fight off the negative force
Not give up till the battle was won
I promised to chart a new course
Set myself on a new positive direction
I promised to stay focused on my source
Keep fixed upon the ultimate connection
I promised this time I would keep my word
There would be no way I was going to fail
I promised not to allow my vision to be blurred
For once in my life I was going to prevail
I promised but my promise was absurd
It just turned out to be another wise tale
I promised not to quit and try again
I promise this time with prayer, amen.

My eyes caught sight of a remnant scar
I drifted back to a place not so far
When everything was new and fresh
Youthful clear unblemished flesh
Reminiscing that it was not by chance
I alone allowed the blow to glance
Setting the stage for what now appears
A lasting remembrance of my early years
It seemed to start out as just a little nick
No harm could evolve from such a tiny prick
Feeling there was no reason for concern
Foolish thinking I was soon to learn
Allowing contamination to settle in
Infecting the affected person within
A short time later it began to spread
The once healthy body, the once clear head
Convincing myself everything was alright
Quickly deteriorating and loosing sight
Taking a toll it began to look and feel strange
Then I realized things really needed to change
I began mending areas I left long unattended
Especially where I had most often offended
After some time I began to notice healing
Touching me deeply with a wonderful feeling
Soon the infection had all but gone away
I looked forward with hope to a better day
Paying attention to matters ever so small
Each day trying my best to address them all
This life change experience and short memoir
Of such a little tiny wound and A Remnant Scar
