NEW BEGINNINGS

Are ideology, religion, and politics fueling the fires of dissent, discord, and lack of harmony here at home and around the world? My personal view is this: Ideology, religion, and politics all exist and are driven by strong beliefs and points of view. Each one attempts to control they way people think, conduct their lives and their views on any particular subject matter. Also the poison that comes out of the media attempts to control the minds of people who are easily swayed one way or another. All of us are a small part of what is wrong today. If all of us started in our own small way to make positive change around us and in our daily lives, things will change. "Together we are one, alone we are apart," and if things keep going the way they are we will continue to drift farther and farther apart, both here at home and around the world.

Today we all are talking about change; without a doubt, it is the hottest word in the world. It is hotter than hot a lethal weapon, a political branding iron leaving a mark on us all. People of all ethnicities, religions, etc. are longing for change. Let’s face reality our country and the entire world are in a desperate need of change. There is no way that our country and the world can continue on in the direction we are moving in. The country and the world as a whole are on a collision course with disaster. We can no longer continue to sugarcoat the problems that are facing humanity at this time. Power, greed, selfishness, lust, perversion, inequality, a total disregard for the poor, and the dignity of human life in general. With all of the negative history of the past, both home, and abroad, you would think that we as a people would have learned from the mistakes of the past. All of the senseless bloodshed, countless number of wars, and persecutions of the past. Politicians need to be held accountable, all of us as individuals, young, old, and all those in between need to be held accountable. We need to wake up, step up, and do our part to work for positive change in our country and in the world. We are all in this mess together, the problems facing us today will only be resolved if we work together. Together we are one; alone we are only a small part. We are all part of the problem; we all need to be part of the solution to all of these very serious issues facing us today.

Through the little pond water flows Glistening, filtered, sparkling clear Nature thrives, beautiful flowers grow A crisp clean fragrance fills the air Such a wonderful sight to behold All the four seasons of the year One day arrives an uninvited guest Chipping away the trees and sticks In no time at all the little pest Is up to natural mischievous tricks Using brush, trees, and sticks to jam Quickly turning into the beaver dam Once clear is stagnant filled with debris The fresh air becomes smelly and foul No longer such a pleasant sight to see Lifeless flowers and departed fowl Time to remove the brush, pick up sticks Clean up the clutter and all the debris Break down the barriers causing the mess The natural course will at once flow free Beauty in time shall once again appear The clean crisp fragrance will fill the air Changing back to the person I really am A life changing lesson at The Beaver Dam

Sometimes we smile, sometimes we frown Sometimes we're up, sometimes we're down That's okay - it's another day
Sometimes we win, sometimes we loose Sometimes happy, sometimes the blues That's okay - it's another day
There are no answers - my friend About beginnings - or about ends The matter is - to make it through As the sun shines - in the sky The truth is - we're just passing by Life is fine - spending it with you
Sometimes we walk, sometimes we run Sometimes tough, sometimes fun That's okay - it's another day with you
Together we can reach, for the stars Together, everyday, in this life of ours Better days ahead - for me and you
The only answer - my friend Is not the start - only the end For us to change - our points of view As the sun beams - rays from above The truth is - it's all about love Life is fine - spending it with you Life is great - when our love shines through!

In the Book of Isaiah, (Chapter 65:17-25) A World Renewed is described this way: The Glorious New Creation; "For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind. (Isaiah 65:17) There shall always be rejoicing and happiness in what I create. (Isaiah 65:18) No longer shall the sound of weeping be heard there, or the sound of crying. (Isaiah 65:19) They shall live in houses they build, and eat the fruit of the vineyards they plant. (Isaiah 65:21) They shall not toil in vain; blessed are they and their offspring. (Isaiah 65:23) Before they call; I will hearken to them. (Isaiah 65:24) The wolf and the lamb shall graze alike. (Isaiah 65:25)
These words are an amazing depiction of what God is promising to those who love Him. We are promised by God the glory of a new heaven and a new earth; He will dwell with us for all eternity; He will be our God and we shall be his people. But as I read these words about the things to come, I see a real connection with our lives today; taking each verse one at a time: (1) God can take our flawed human nature and transform us to be a new creation; forgiving us of our sinfulness, creating us anew, He shall remember our sins no more. (2) Having been renewed, we shall be filled with the Holy Spirit and overwhelmed with rejoicing and happiness. (3) Our weeping of tears shall be turned to shouts of joy and gladness because our lives of sin have passed away. (4) We shall rebuild our earthly bodies, becoming temples of the Holy Spirit; help to transform the lives of others because we will be concerned with filling ourselves with the things of God and not the garbage and filth of this world. (5) We shall work with joy on the things of the Lord, and He will bless the fruits of our labors and of our family members who also trust in Him. (6) When we call out His name in times of need, He shall answer our prayers because He knows our needs before the asking. (7) Living in this world in the midst of all the pain, suffering, and evil, we shall dwell in this land and continue to be prosperous, fruitful and a positive force in the lives of others because God has transformed us into "A NEW CREATION".
